Anders Bouwer (bass) , Bouke Bijlsma (drums, vocals) and Rudy Kronfuss (guitar, vocals)
On Sunday the 2nd of july we played at the GLOBE center in Hilversum/ Holland. It was a concert to present my new CD "Rudy Kronfuss plays Jimi Hendrix".We played two sets of 50 minutes each and of course lots of songs of the CD were included.
"Heaven has no Sorrow" and "Valleys of Neptune" for instance were two goodies that Jimi could not even finish during his short career amongst never live played "1983" and "Angel" .We also did a long version of "Machine Gun", "3rd Stone from the Sun" and the slow long "Voodoo Child". In "Manic Depression" I broke my hight E - string which resulted in a not quite planned drumsolo. "Room full of Mirrors" was a surprise for Bouke because we never rehearsed it, but it went down well I thought.
Joram Albus was in the audience with his family and of course I had to invite him to join us for a jam on "Who knows" with a nice solo in it. He plays on a couple of songs on the CD, so it was lovely that he joined us.
Unfortunately there were problems with the computer recording devices meaning that the show was only recorded on video. Peter and Jo had put up a nice light show as well which meant we could celebrate Jimi's music in a nice enviroment.
Due to abnormal high temperature in Holland (30 degrees !) many people did not show up and stayed in their bathtops and shady gardens. That was too bad, they have no idea what they have missed !
