Old Pain

I feel sorrow coming from your direction

is it the past that vibrates into the present

bringing pain and sorrow

or are these just the echoes of forgotten hurting

shadows of feelings you once felt ?

let them sound both

the old cries and voices of the past

let their music die out in silence and peace

and to be the Earth for the future

for new seeds of learning

let them ring

until they are no more painful

listen but don't move away

from the now
